Family activity guides for Plymouth and the South West's major new museum, art gallery and archive.

A series of illustrated family activity guides commissioned by The Box in Plymouth. The Box is Plymouth’s major new 3500 sq metre interactive art gallery, museum and archive featuring nine permanent galleries showcasing the city’s incredible collections.
They include 14 monumental ships’ figureheads, thousands of natural history specimens, a full-size woolly mammoth replica, objects, film and photography, documents, maps and plans and is the largest single contemporary art gallery in the South West.
The guides encourage children and young people to explore different collections in the space, finding out more about Plymouth’s rich history and having fun in the process. We used bold graphics and illustrations to match The Box’s writing that didn’t shy away from complex or challenging narratives along with a bright colour palette of spot colours that allow the printed leaflets to catch the eye of visitors before sparking their imagination.
Each guide is designed to allow users to draw and complete each page with their own drawings and by answering questions to complete the narrative.
